SWEVEN, a.k.a. Bobby Simpson, began his journey in New York City in 1997 before relocating with his family to Dallas, Texas, where he spent most of his upbringing. With a musical background spanning piano, guitar, clarinet, saxophone, drums, jazz band, and years spent leading worship teams in church, Bobby developed an eclectic range of influences that would later shape his approach to electronic music.

He began his college career at the United States Air Force Academy before being honorably discharged and returning to Texas to continue his education. While studying mechanical engineering at the University of North Texas, Bobby first entered the electronic music scene in 2017—attending raves, discovering a deeper love for dance music, and DJing college bars and parties. During that time, he also served as president of his Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity chapter.

After graduating in December 2019, Bobby returned to the mountains and relocated to Denver to fully pursue his dreams in music—only to be met by the COVID-19 shutdowns shortly after. Rather than abandoning the vision, he continued creating. Since 2020, SWEVEN has shared stages with artists including Autograf, Trivecta, Man Cub, and more, while also exploring collaborative projects and producing dozens of live events throughout the Denver music scene.

Following a brief hiatus in 2025, SWEVEN returns with a renewed sense of purpose and years of unreleased music ready to finally see the light of day. Derived from an archaic English word meaning “a vision” or “a dream,” the name SWEVEN reflects Bobby’s pursuit of creating ethereal, boundary-blurring music that transports listeners into vivid sonic landscapes. Drawing from melodic dubstep, drum and bass, future bass, progressive house, and influences far beyond electronic music, SWEVEN balances high-energy production with melody, emotion, and introspection.

That vision now comes together in SWEVEN’s debut album, Flight To Far Away—a body of work built from nearly six years of music, growth, experimentation, and life experience.  This is the beginning of the story of SWEVEN. More than simply a collection of songs, the album marks the beginning of a new chapter for SWEVEN and an invitation for listeners to escape reality, embrace the turbulence, and journey somewhere far away.

With over 100 unreleased tracks already done, there is a whole lot more in store for the future, and he is beyond excited to continue his story through art with all of you.
